September 2025 Bullet Journal

I am going to try to do a monthly bullet journal spread. A lot of people who do bullet journals do this, but I haven't tried it yet. I think it could be fun to have a theme for the month and just keep that theme going if I decide to add to it. For now, I have my main September page that I modified from an idea I found on Pinterest. I had fun making a fall theme because I am excited to be going to see the fall colors later this month. I took a picture of the main page before I filled in the boxes because I don't want to broadcast my weight or family birthdays.

I really want to get back into doing regular exercise. For the last few weeks, I had a goal of 30 or 45 minutes a day, but I wasn't keeping up with it very well. I am hoping having a dedicated tracker will help keep me focused.

With the goal of reading 15 books this year and still needing to finish 6 books to make this happen, I made a page to track the book I just started. I am quite proud of how this one turned out. I didn't copy it from any specific idea that I had seen online, but I may have seen something like it in the past. Either way, I like how it turned out.

The last one I did was inspired by the potty-training charts I used to make for the boys many years ago. I just labeled the page and will put stickers on it anytime I eat a fruit or vegetable.

I will likely add to this as the month goes on depending on my goals. I'm sure there will be at least one more book to track before the month is over. There could also be one to track my progress in finding a job that I can do with my degree because I don't know how much longer I can stand working in billing.

Yoga

People often say that they like, or even love, yoga. I couldn’t figure out why for a long time. I tried many different times. When my kids were little, I had an AM/PM in bed yoga CD and didn’t get the point. I figured it just wasn’t for me. Several years later, I bought a set of yoga CDs after a friend talked me into trying it again. I liked it for a bit, but couldn’t get into it completely because I didn’t like to stretch. Then, when I was starting to run, I heard of a YouTube channel that had yoga for runners. I liked it ok, but still wasn’t big on the long stretches. I just figured I would not never like it.

When I started the Miracle Morning, I needed a form of exercise that would help me wake up in the morning and didn’t want to need to put on a bra. I settled on trying yoga again using Apple Fitness+. Since then, I have been doing yoga most mornings. I like the variety I have found through this app, and doing it for only 10 minutes is good for me. It is a good way to wake up, and I can feel myself getting stronger. Knowing that I can just take a walk around the block instead if I choose seems to help, too. I love knowing that I am in control of this aspect of my life.

Started Noom

As I was reading a book about marathon training, it was suggested that the way we eat could determine how we feel after the run. Out of all 250ish pages I read, this was one of the main things that stuck with me. Then, I got an email from Noom that had a deal I felt like I couldn’t pass up. (I have been getting these emails since I considered joining about a year ago.) After discussing it with Chad, it was decided that this may be the thing that can help me make the changes I need to lose weight and feel good when I workout.

I am almost to the 2 week mark, and I can tell that it is helping. I like that there are daily lessons that I can lessen to that not only give real tips. They also keep the plan on my mind. I like that I am allowed to eat any foods with an emphasis on eating “green” foods. I like that there is a calorie range rather than a specific calorie goal to hit each day. I like that they explain how and why more calories can be earned.

So far, I have lost about 4 pounds. I know that isn’t much for some people. (My husband can lose Morse than that in a week with minimal changes.) It is a lot for me though. I have two medical conditions that make weight loss difficult but not impossible. I’m sure the numbers will go up as I make more changes and exercise more. I can’t wait to see what I can do with this.

Absolute Beginner HIIT

I have Apple Fitness+ through my insurance, but I don’t take advantage of it as much as I should. Tonight, I decided to pick up where I left off in the spring since it’s a bit too icy to run outside.

I did a 10 minute HIIT workout, and it felt good. I haven’t done a HIIT workout since they stopped doing classes at the gym. This one was far less intense, but it is one step closer to helping me re-establish a regular workout routine.

Hurt…In a Good Way

Chad and I signed up for this year’s BOLDERBoulder a few days ago. That means it is time to be serious about training. Since my running has been sporadic at best, that means k have to get back on a regular running schedule. I know I keep saying I’m going to do this.

Today, I started my training plan using my Jeff Galloway’s app. I like using this app because it helps me time my run/walk intervals. I did a 30 minute run for the first time in a long time. Now, my hips and legs hurt, but it is a good kind of hurt.

I am proud of myself for getting out in the cold and making a plan to move forward. It is not always easy to make the time to workout, but I need to make myself a priority.
