After Day 2

Day 2 of General Conference was a bit harder to get through. This is only because I was tired and the second session of the day was during my usual Sunday nap. I made it through the morning session with no problem, but I slept through the first hour in the afternoon. Thankfully, I have it recorded and it is available on the church's website, and I can rewatch it anytime.

My takeaway so far is that it is ok to not be perfect. This life is about progress. The Lord loves our efforts to keep our covenants. I have heard these things before, but it hit a bit different this time.

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love that it is not a gospel of protection. It is a gospel of love and compassion, learning and growth, passion, and following the most powerful man to ever live on this earth. I am thankful to be a member of the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints. I know my efforts to love and live this gospel will help me progress throughout eternity and lead me back to my mom and brother after this life.

Sweater Progress

This sweater has been one of the hardest knitting projects I have worked on. It has also been fun to see come to shape. I have finished the yoke and already split for the arms. I am currently working on the body and need to do about an inch and a half of stockenette more before I start the shaping. I'm hoping that I can to the rest of the shaping right the first time because I really don't want to have to pull out more mistakes. I can already tell that I am going to love this sweater and can't wait to be able to wear it.

Noom Update

Over the past few months, I have been learning to create a healthier life. I still love my junk foods, but I don’t eat nearly as much as in the past. I am becoming more active. I am trying to have better sleep habits. What are the results? My clothes are fitting different, and my weight is slowly going down.

When I put on my clothes this morning, I realized my belt is in the last notch. That means I will be taking a trip to the thrift store soon for another belt. I probably won’t buy smaller pants until my weight goes down more. Of course, I will most likely be looking for something to wear in the summer by then.

Puzzle Update

The puzzle is coming along decently. Noel has done most of the work, of course. I put in a few pieces and got yelled at for daring to want to do the mountains/plateaus before the sky was done. We’re past that past now, so I will probably work on it a bit more. I’m now sure what order she wants to do it, but technically it’s my puzzle…right?

We did hit a few small snags. First, we are most likely missing at least two pieces. We bought it at a thrift store and knew that was possible. Second, it is on our kitchen table, and eating around it can be difficult. We have covered it a few times, but we mostly just have every one get their food in the kitchen and sit down.

With pieces missing, I’m not sure I will be able to Mount it with the lights which makes me a bit sad. Maybe, I can use the lights for something else. Christmas is coming quickly…

Progress Not Perfection

I still have a long way to go before Chad and I run a marathon, but I’m getting better. I have changed my intervals to 35 seconds running and 40 seconds walking. It is still a bit of a challenge but not so much that I am hating it. I really want to get back to walking the intros to songs and running during the feast of them. I loved running when I was doing it that way. I’m sure I will get there soon. Until then, I’m just going to enjoy getting into shape while remembering the goal of running a marathon the year Chad turns 50 (it’s coming up way too fast).
